The Directory of Open Access Books (DOAB) is a discovery service for Open Access monographs. DOAB provides a searchable index to peer-reviewed monographs and edited volumes published under an Open Access business model, with links to the full texts of the publications at the publisher’s website or repository.
This blog will provide news and updates on the DOAB user needs research, on the development of the DOAB and on events DOAB has organised or is otherwise involved in. During the 2nd and 3rd week of July it will also provide digests of the discussion that will be organised on the DOAB mailinglist, which will focus on getting an overview of the disparity of opinions and views that exist on Open Access books, and quality control, peer review and Open Access publishing of books. Comments can be made both on the blog and on the mailing list.
